Our Board Of Directors

Alaska Pacific Bank's Board of Directors consists of nine members. Directors' terms are staggered so that approximately one-third of the board is elected each year. Each individual serves for a three-year term. In addition to attending monthly board meetings, the directors also serve on a number of committees including the Human Resources, Nominating, Audit, Asset and Liability, Marketing, and Strategic Planning Committees.


William A. Corbus

is currently the Chairman of the Board. A long-time Juneau businessman, joined the Alaska Pacific Bancshares Board January 1, 2008. Bill Corbus was named President and Director of the Alaska Energy and Resources Company (AERC) in April 2007—a position he also held from 1988-2002. AERC is the parent of Alaska Electric Light and Power Company, and he holds the position of Chairman and Director of that company—a position he also held from 1978-1988 and again from 1997-2002. Mr. Corbus served as Commissioner of the Department of Revenue, State of Alaska, from December 2002-December 2006. He has over 25 years of Alaska banking board experience. Mr. Corbus has also served as Trustee for the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation and the Alaska Retirement Management Board. He holds a BS degree from Stanford University and a MBA from Amos Tuck Graduate School of Business Administration.


Maxwell Rule, CPA

is the Vice-Chairman of the Board and is a CPA and Chief Financial Officer for a group of related companies owned by the Hames family in Sitka, AK. He is also a shareholder in Carol Sue & Company, Inc, in which he co-founded with his wife in 2000. The company operates Matty’s World in Ketchikan and two Silver Basin stores in Ketchikan and Sitka. Mr. Rule holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Montana. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Public Accountants.


Doug Andrew

a prominent Ketchikan businessman and community member, is the owner of the Prospector Hotel in Juneau and has been the Manager of Food Services of America in Ketchikan since 1990. Mr. Andrew, who is a fourth generation Alaskan, has extensive volunteer leadership experience including 28 years as a Little League baseball coach and five years as the Little League Baseball President, in Ketchikan.


BethAnn Boudah Chapman

has practiced law in Juneau since 1988 with Faulkner Banfield PC, focusing on the areas of business, estate, and retirement planning; trust and estate litigation; and federal, state, and local taxation. As a "fellow" of the American College of Trusts & Estate Counsel, Ms. Chapman is part of a select group of attorneys who are nationally recognized in the practice of estate planning, probate and trust law. She is an accomplished lawyer, ranked by her peers at the highest level of professional excellence, legal ability, and ethics in the Matindale-Hubbell Ratings. She serves as trustee of the Alaska Bar Foundation.


Craig E. Dahl

is President and CEO of Alaska Pacific Bank. He has been employed by Alaska Pacific Bank since 1992, and is the former President of B.M. Behrends Bank in Juneau. Mr. Dahl has been on the Board since 1996.


Hugh N. Grant

has been self-employed as a contractor and real estate developer in Juneau, Alaska since 1961. He is also the owner of the local Western Auto/Marine store and other business establishments in Juneau. Mr. Grant was appointed to the Alaska Commission on Post Secondary Education in May of 2008 for a 4 year term. He also currently serves on the Juneau Personnel Board and is a member of the Diocese of the Juneau Finance Council.


Scott C. Milner, CPA

is a CPA and president of Milner, Howard, Mortenson, Palmer & Johnson PC, CPAs in Ketchikan. He graduated from the University of Montana with a B.S. in Business Administration, emphasizing accounting. He's also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.


William J. Schmitz

is a Certified Public Accountant and a partner in the accounting firm of Schmitz and Buck, CPAs, in Juneau Alaska, which has been in existence since 1961. Mr. Schmitz has been on the Board since 1987.


Linda C. Thomas, CPA

is Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Alaskan Brewing Company, where she has worked since 1994. At the brewery, considered to be one of the top regional craft breweries in the nation, Ms. Thomas is responsible for guiding and achieving all strategic objectives and effective operations. Her past board appointments have included the Alaska State Chamber of Commerce, Bartlett Regional Hospital, Juneau Chamber of Commerce and many others. Ms. Thomas also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and is a licensed CPA.
