They offer a variety of resources on their site, including a section devoted to business and economic development. Special reports are available covering issues related to business development for members.  The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for Southeast Alaska can be downloaded from their site.  They offer business development counseling to members, assisting with:

Southeast Conference

The mission of Southeast Conference is to undertake and support activities that promote strong economies, healthy communities, and quality environment in Southeast Alaska. The Sitka Economic Development Association’s mission is economic development.  It will foster a business climate that is receptive and conducive to existing and new business, help promote the creation of family wage jobs, and enhance the quality of life for Sitkans.  SEDA is involved in the development of housing, visitor industry planning, economic development projects, and more.  They publish the Sitka Community Profile, Sitka Trends, Sitka Marine Industries, and conduct a quarterly price survey.  They host the annual State of Sitka’s Economy forum, and promote Sitka in regional and national publications.  They also host sitka.net.

Sitka Works is committed to supporting meaningful and sustaining work opportunities for all Sitkans.  Their goal is to build the capacity for the creation and planning of small businesses.  They offer a Small Business Resource Center, job training, and employment resources.  The group produces a newsletter and hosts various workshops and events throughout the year.  They offer a variety of services (some are fee-based) and free consultations.  Highlights of their services include:
